The California State Superior Court today ruled that the 9000 Registered Nurses who work in the UC system are barred from carrying out their planned one-day strike tomorrow. The California Nurses' Association will instead carry out informational pickets at the six medical centers statewide. Although the strike has been delayed for the present, UC is enjoined from retaliating against union activity, according to Manny Punzalan.

Manny is an oncology nurse at UCLA, who represents 2500 fellow nurses. He talks about the ongoing struggle to establish good patient care and labor practices at UC.
