Eureka, CA - The North Coast Regional Water Quality Board will decide whether or not to take actions to reduce Pacific Lumber Company's rate of logging in five watersheds at a meeting on January 23, 2002. The
public hearing comes on the heels of a strong report by an independent science panel, which unanimously recommended an immediate reduction in the rate of logging to ensure recovery of the sediment-impaired watersheds....

Logging Continues on Gypsy Mt. through heavy storms.
Gypsy Mt., the place where forest defender David "Gypsy' Chain was killed by an enraged logger in 1998, is now under assault by Maxxam/PL's logging contractors and has been for the past several weeks. Loggers have been cutting almost non-stop through intense, record-breaking storms and they're still at it....
