DeSantis' First Law Enforcement Appointee Perjury and Failure to Disclose homicide arrest

by Jon Edwards
DeSantis 2019 Broward County Sheriff Appointee Perjury Investigation and Homicide Arrest - failure to Disclose - Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony
DeSantis' first law enforcement appointee in 2019 was Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony who faced a perjury investigation and, now, an ethics investigation for his failure to disclose his homicide arrest. The first law enforcement appointee of the newly and narrowly elected Governor DeSantis in 2019 has some serious issues with the truth and his own crimes.

DeSantis' appointed a close crony to the Sheriff Tony perjury investigation in 2019, State's Attorney Amira Fox. Fox's assistant, Prosecutor Anthony Kunasek, promptly cleared Sheriff Tony. After federal law enforcement requested an interview with Kunasek concerning his criminal activities related to the perjury investigation and his forgery of a court order in spring of 2022, Kunasek committed suicide with a gunshot to the head somewhat closing inquiry into a quid pro quo between DeSantis and State's Attorney Amira Fox. Some measure of justice was self-imposed by Mr. Kunasek, the death penalty for his "law enforcement" crimes.

Does DeSantis' "law and order" Florida include the appointment of criminals and ethics violators to high law enforcement positions to advance his criminal justice agenda?
