Join us to hear about the Transition US National Gathering from Transition Berkeley member Bonnie Borucki, who traveled to St. Paul, Minnesota to attend the 3-day conference this past August.

She’ll report back about the exciting work that is going on and the variety of approaches different Transition Towns are taking to building strong sustainable communities in towns and cities across the US.

We’ll watch Transition Movement founder Rob Hopkins as he highlights successes of the movement in his address to the conference. Then we will receive inspiration and wisdom from video of Standing Rock leaders Phyllis Young and Pearl Means who spoke at the conference.

Berkeley Transition Steering Committee member Ayako Nagano will report on the Transition work she witnessed going on in Cambridge, England this summer, while away on sabbatical with her family.

With a clearer view of what the Transition Movement can be around the world, we’ll invite everyone to envision what they would like the future of Transition Berkeley to be and how they can be part of it.

What new films would you like to see, what projects can we get involved with, how can we best influence our local government, businesses and organizations? Are there any campaigns that you would like to help Transition Berkeley take an active part in? Let’s tap into the collective genius of ordinary people working together. Bring an earth-friendly dish to share at 6:30 pm for the our potluck if you like!
