Help Defend April 15th Anti-Trump Arrestees

by Burnt Spangle
Support the people who were arrested while protesting the Neo-Nazi rally in Berkeley, California on April 15, 2017.

On April 15th, 2017 many of our comrades were arrested protesting the gathering of neo-nazis, white supremacists, and fascists who drove for hours to Berkeley with the direct intent to harm citizens of the city. Berkeley antifascists showed in large numbers to defend our community and to reject these violent fascists pretending to be holding a peaceful "free speech" rally.

To all present and to anyone who has seen the pictures that were taken of their rally, it is obvious that this was not their intent from the start. Berkeley police allowed them to freely assault multiple people while they looked on, and arrested many counter protesters along with several bystanders while letting some of the most violent militia members go, even shaking hands with them.

Money donated will go to the legal defense to free our friends and comrades and allow them to continue to serve their community. Anything that can be donated is greatly appreciated. It is as a community, with mutual support and aid, that we can continue.

§Fundraiser Closes After No Charges Filed
by Update
At this point, all comrades are reportedly out of jail, and no charges have been filed against them.

The fundraiser is now closed, after raising $1,947, and all the money is being donated to the Bay Area Anti-Repression Committee (ARC) to help out future arrestees and anyone who they might decide to charge.

UPDATE: Today we got the best news we could have hoped for, everyone who was being held by the police in relation to April 15th's protest of a fascist rally in Berkeley are being released today, with no charges filed at this time. We are closing the fundraiser and the money you all have donated will be sent to the ARC (Anti-Repression Committee) bail fund so it can help others experiencing state repression and to help our comrades as well as every person resisting on the 15th if they are ever charged. Thank you everyone for the money donated, its hard to even put into words how much it means to all of us, but the international support we received was both incredible and inspiring. We will continue to work against fascism, white supremacy, and state violence and deeply appreciate the solidarity expressed by those facing similar struggles both here in the US as well as world wide. As a community we stand strong in the face of hate, and we will never give up. Thank you again for the support and love.

Some good news finally, with the help of the National Lawyers Guild via the Bay Area Anti-Repression Committee we have pro bono representation for the upcoming court date. We are still raising funds for bail but this is an enormous help and I would like to take a second to thank the NLG, Bay Area Anti-Repression Committee, and BAMN for all of the help they have provided. Also a huge thank you to all who have donated, thank you for your support it means so much to all of us.
