Ben Carson, age 65, a medical doctor, is an African-American who grew up in poverty and benefitted from all of the anti-poverty programs of the 1960s and 1970s including public housing, public schools, food stamps, Medicaid, affirmative action programs and education grants and loans. He views public housing as socialism, which he despises. For more on Ben Carson, see:

James Richard Perry, age 66, was the notorious pro-death penalty, anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, gun promoting governor of Texas, executing 298 people from 2000 to 2016, who is on the Board of Directors of Energy Transfer Partners which is constructing the Dakota Access Pipeline illegally through Native American land in violation of the 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie. The US Senators who voted for these utterly reactionary and totally unqualified cabinet secretaries all claim to be highly educated leaders of this society, demonstrating that this backward country, with the highest infant mortality and lowest life expectancy in the industrialized world due to not having socialized medicine unlike the rest of the industrialized world, and with a death penalty, unlike 80% of the world’s countries, is utterly rotten and cannot move forward in its current profit-promoting, capitalist form.

The Nazi Trump administration demonstrates the continued decline and decay of the bankrupt social order in which we live, capitalism, and its similarities to the Nixon and Reagan administrations are striking and instructive. See

“Trump in Historical Perspective–From Nixon to Bannon-Breitbart and the Alt Right Fringe” by Jack Rasmus, 3/1/17 at

The differences are also important. Under Richard Nixon, we won not only the Environmental Protection Agency in 1970, but also the right to abortion in 1973 with Roe v. Wade, where the majority opinion was written by a Nixon appointee, Justice Blackmun, with a Kennedy appointee, Justice White dissenting, because we had a mass movement of hundreds of thousands of protesters daily across the country on a variety of issues, under the umbrella of the peace movement against the American War against Vietnam and its accompanying draft. There was no homeless crisis until 1980, while Democrat Carter was still in office. Ronald Reagan granted amnesty to undocumented immigrants in 1986. As governor of California, in 1967, Reagan signed a pro-abortion bill. The reason for the advances under Nixon and Reagan is because labor was stronger.

The attack on immigrants is an attack on labor, and with the continued resistance, including a planned May Day mass protest across the country, bigger and better than May Day 2006, labor is taking the lead, hopefully putting an end to the private profit system that is the cause of all our grief.

If you have had enough of Nazi Trump and his Democrat-Republican millionaires, billionaires and generals, supported by both Democrats and Republicans, register for the only two pro-labor, pro-peace, pro-environment parties on the ballot, Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party. You can register online for either one of these 2 pro-labor parties at https://covr.sos.ca.gov/?language=en-US
