People's House Member Ayşegül Başar was taken into police custody at 05.30 in the morning. Bashar and his colleagues went to coffee houses in dünIstanbul Okmeydanı to call for secularism and urged the people to oppose massacres and reaction. This work in Okmeydanı was targeted by a person's notice and a tweet account of the Ministry of Interior.
The Interior Ministry informed TEM about the call for secularism!
The following expressions reacted to the detention of the People's Residence: "The people's house, Ayşegül Başar, was taken into custody this morning for having laicism. Reina is outside the killer, defend the secularism of our members in custody. Ayşegül Başar is released immediately! "
Commenting on the subject, CHP Istanbul deputy Barış Yarkadaş said that five days of detention for Başar were taken. The CHP deputy said that Başar was taken to Kulaksiz police station.
Yarkadaş reacted with the words, "Taking Ayşegül Başar, the employee of Halkevi Üyesi and Cumhuriyet Newspaper, shown on Twitter via target, to intimidate those who have secularism".
Ayşegül Başar and his friends talk about the basic principles of the Constitution after the Reina massacre and they called the people to combine against terrorism, "Why does the Ministry of Interior worry about the propaganda of the youth against the IŞİD and why is AKP and the media suffocated when IŞİD is cursed?" asked. In 2017 Turkey, people who defend life against death and secularism against jihadism are under permanent threat. After the Reina massacre where 39 were killed just at the first hours of 2017, member of People’s Houses and DİSK affiliate Basın-İş journalist’s trade union and trainee journalist of the Cumhuriyet newspaper, Ayşegül Başar is taken under custody early this morning after a police raid at her house. The pretext for the custody is a coffee shop speech in Okmeydanı on Sunday, calling the citizens to act and organise against jihadist massacres.
Some members of the People’s Houses, including Ayşegül Başar, who declared that they shall not permit the jihadist gangs to organise in their neighbourhood and they will defend secularism against jihadist fundamentalism, was declared as “terrorist threat” in a Tweet sent from the official Twitter account of the Ministry of Interior last night. The Ministry later had to erase the Tweet after the reaction of thousands of citizens who declared they also defend secularism. However early in this morning Ayşegül Başar was taken under custody; the prosecutor demanded 5 days of custody.
We shall continue to defend life against death, peace against war and secularism against jihadist fundamentalism. Ayşegül Başar is not alone; free Ayşegül Başar.

During the march, slogans were often laid down, "No shouting, no war", "Turkey will be secular, secular", "The killers will ask the laborers," "We will not be the country of massacres" and "The government will resign." Istanbul Medical Chamber Chairman Samet Mengüç, who made a joint statement in the act, said "Our country, which closed 2016 with endless massacres, unfortunately entered with a new massacre in 2017. Mengüç said, "How will unity and solidarity be achieved when the secularism defenses are being criminalized? This country is governed by polarizing the society and accusing all kinds of criticism and opposition by making hate language dominate politics. This mind must be stopped as soon as possible. It is in the middle of what equality, freedom, secularism and democracy are threatening our country in the absence of peace. "

Mehmet Durakoğlu, the Chairman of the Istanbul Bar Association later said: "We will never contribute to that distinction when trying to explain the importance of secularism and democracy from one side in this country, while trying to reflect the consciousness of how the world of liberties has been achieved.

'THIS IS NOT YOUR NEIGHBORS'

DİSK Secretary General Arzu Çerkezoğlu, who spoke in the act, said, "Turkey is in a darkness.Death is even tired in this country. Those who rule this country and those who live in this country know that the process in this country is the result of applied policies, policies that have been going on for years. Today, even if death is tired in these lands, we know that this is the political politics, and those who govern Turkey are the primary responsibility of this. "

Attention to the prolongation of the OHAL, Çerkezoğlu said, "We saw that the OHAL stopped the blood flowing and stopped the terrorist attacks. Only journalists, dissidents, academics were sent to jail. We know that the security concept in this country is only applied to the opposition. It is not the need of this country, it is work, love, brotherhood, peace, equality and liberty. " Istanbul Chamber of Financial Advisors Chairman Erol Demirel also said that they would continue to call for peace and democracy against those who want to divide and polarize the society.
