Yesterday, a group of friends in the Okmeydanı coffee shop to call the secularist Circassian Member Ayşegül Başar was taken into custody.

Commenting on the subject, CHP Istanbul deputy Barış Yarkadaş said that five days of detention for Başar were taken. The CHP deputy said that Başar was taken to Kulaksiz police station.
Yarkadaş reacted with the words, "Taking Ayşegül Başar, the employee of Halkevi Üyesi and Cumhuriyet Newspaper, shown on Twitter via target, to intimidate those who have secularism".
Ayşegül Başar and his friends talk about the basic principles of the Constitution after the Reina massacre and they called the people to combine against terrorism, "Why does the Ministry of Interior worry about the propaganda of the youth against the IŞİD and why is AKP and the media suffocated when IŞİD is cursed?" asked. After the Reina massacre where 39 were killed just at the first hours of 2017, member of People’s Houses and DİSK affiliate Basın-İş journalist’s trade union and trainee journalist of the Cumhuriyet newspaper, Ayşegül Başar is taken under custody early this morning after a police raid at her house. The pretext for the custody is a coffee shop speech in Okmeydanı on Sunday, calling the citizens to act and organise against jihadist massacres.
Some members of the People’s Houses, including Ayşegül Başar, who declared that they shall not permit the jihadist gangs to organise in their neighbourhood and they will defend secularism against jihadist fundamentalism, was declared as “terrorist threat” in a Tweet sent from the official Twitter account of the Ministry of Interior last night. The Ministry later had to erase the Tweet after the reaction of thousands of citizens who declared they also defend secularism. However early in this morning Ayşegül Başar was taken under custody; the prosecutor demanded 5 days of custody.

Labor and professional organizations in Istanbul condemned the massacre that 39 people lost their lives in Reina. Hundreds of people gathered in the Historical Mimar Sinan Hamami Front yesterday with the call of Istanbul Medical Chamber, Istanbul Bar, Istanbul Chamber of Pharmacy, Istanbul Chamber of Accountants and Financial Consultants, Istanbul Chamber of Dentists, Istanbul Veterinary Chamber, TMMOB, DİSK and KESK, We are not afraid, we will not surrender to the darkness "Reina walked behind the banner. Former CHP deputy Süleyman Çelebi, Coordinator of the Union for Democracy and Abdullah Levent Legal Entity of Labor Party MYK, Istanbul Provincial Chairman Güven Gerçek, Anti-Capitalist Muslims Ihsan Eliaçık, former ministers Ziya Halis and Suruç also attended the statement.
