Time:
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Event Type:
Teach-In

San Francisco, CA

If you are truly interested in social justice and land use issues (rents and housing in the Bay Area, but much more than that, too), and enjoy engaging the public in friendly repartee, and have performed street theater or believe you would like to so perform, then this gig is worth your time. We're especially interested in performers of color who have knowledge of W.E.B. DuBois, Harriet Tubman, Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta.

THE AUDITION: Attend an hour long introduction to the social justice work we do, and get paid $15 for that. Give us your five minute version of what you understand of our work and get paid $5 for that.

NOTE: Circus skills could be persuasive as we select performers!

Be one of three auditioners selected to be part of our afternoon of street theater (this performance to take place at a time to be determined in the next month) and get paid $75 for that afternoon's work, plus get $20 for an hour's rehearsal the day of and immediately after the audition. Performers may choose to participate in additional, elective rehearsals.

Audition Sunday, April 19, 2 pm at a Mission District on-the-street location to be determined.
