Obama: The war in Afghanistan is "fundamental" (by Latuff)

by Latuff (carlos.latuff [at] gmail.com)
The war in Afghanistan is "fundamental to the defense of our people," President Obama said Monday, addressing the Veterans of Foreign Wars conference in Phoenix, Ariz. — but the fight will not be easy. "The insurgency in Afghanistan didn't just happen overnight. And we won't
defeat it overnight," the president said.

"But we must never forget. This is not a war of choice. This is a war of necessity. Those who attacked America on 9-11 are plotting to do so again. If left unchecked, the Taliban insurgency will mean an even larger safe haven from which al Qaeda would plot to kill more Americans."

Obama was elected by the anti-war movement of the American peoples, to put an end to these illegal and unjust wars of agression, and bring the troops home, pay reparations, and give the troops free medicare to look after their PTSD, and wounds of all kinds. He is renegging , by saying one thing to the peace movement then something completely opposite to the Imperialist military officials.

In the Roman empire that was Janus, the god of hypocracy. It seems the U.S. constitution needs to upheld here where it stipulates that when a government elected by the American people, no longer serves the needs of the people , it is the right and duty of the American people to alter (impeach) or abolish it (revolution) and replace it with one that does serve the needs of the American people. Viva the anti-war movement!! End pollution wars, not endless wars for more pollution.
