Thank you for sharing this and reminding us of the person, life cut short, behind the news stories, protests, etc. Oscar seemed like a wonderful young man. His death diminishes our entire community.

I REMEMBER CALLING MY BROTHER IN LAW ON A FRIDAY NITE, HE WAS GOING OUT WITH ALL HIS FRIENDS UNTIL I HAD TO CALL "OSCAR i AM SORRY BUT CAN YOU GO TO THE STORE AND GET PRINCE-JADEN PAMPERS" HE SAYS "i AM IN THE WEST GIVE ME 15 MINS OK" I SAID OH YAH I DONT HAVE MONEY!! & THE GREAT BRO IN LAW HE WAS HE GOT IT. OSCAR HAS ALWAYS TRIED TO DO THE RIGHT THING. AND LOVED MY SISTER. I MEAN NOTHING NO ONE COULD COME BETWEEN THEM. MISS YOU OSCAR MISS SEEING YOU IN TRAFFIC. LOVE YOLI
It's been years now since Oscar's passing but no less impactful. I want to say thank you to his family for sharing that window into his life and letting us get to know Oscar. My prayer is that each of you are living life the best you can even in his absence. We never really get over the loss of a loved one, we cope. Sofina, you were so young and your daughter. My heart breaks for you and every family across the nation that is hit with these horrible tragedies at the hands of those who are supposed to provide protection for us all.
I wish they had cared enough to speak to him like a human instead of fearing him like an animal. I read the transcripts, his last words were that he has a 4 year old daughter. That cut deep.
It's years later. These events are still happening. I pray for the wellbeing of your family, I stand with you.
