We Are All Palestinians

When the tanks ride into Gaza on that full-scale invasion that has been planned for months, I will not break to the pressure of the aggressor. I will not be left hopeless. I will not cease to rise up in the mornings, despite the pain and the mourning. I will not be silent.

I have been here before. I have seen through their lies and their newspeak. I have seen larger empires rise and crumble. Despite eight years of the Bush regime, we are tired but not exhausted. You call yourselves the history makers, but we are history in the making.

We, the children of war. We, the spiritual gangsters, the believers and non-believers. We, the compassionate, the earth-loving creatures. We, the truth-seekers.

Because we are all Palestinians. Their holocaust is my holocaust, is our holocaust.

And we will rise up. Just like those before us, like those after us, we will rise up. We will have you surrender to our peacefare. As our souls gather around lives lost, we will mourn with one fist in the air and the other locked in an embrace. Your aggression is our victory. Your hate is the source of our infinite love.
