he Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV) condoles with widows and relatives of departed veterans and widows while it continues it unrelenting advocacy even in the advent of the Christmas season 2008. This happens as the Filipino Veterans Support Bill, SB 3689 hangs in the balance like SB 1315, in the meantime , different JFAV chapters continued it activities everywhere.

Old Soldiers Never Die, They Just fade Away
Los Angeles—The Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV) condoles with widows and relatives of departed veterans and widows while it continues it unrelenting advocacy even in the advent of the Christmas season 2008.
This happens as the Filipino Veterans Support Bill, SB 3689 hangs in the balance like SB 1315, in the meantime , different JFAV chapters continued it activities everywhere.
1. Pastor Tomas Osio, a stalwart of the United Filipino American Veterans (UFAV), of Los Angeles died at the age of 90. This was announced by UFAV past presidents Eugenio Mondok Sr. and Franco Arcebal. Burial and wake details to follow.
2. Another UFAV member, veteran and former journalist Mr. Vicente “Vic” Balajadia also died late November. Balajadia was the former news editor of a Fil-Am weekly in Los Angeles. he was also an officer of the Filipinotown organization in 2003.
3. ACFV veteran leader and lobbyist Jack Tejada was laid to rest last Dec. 12 . He was given a memorial services by Filipino American organizations led by JFAV, Migrants Heritage Commission, NAFFAA. ACFV, NAFVE and the Philippine Embassy in Washington DC last Dec. 8.
Atty Arnedo Valera represented the JFAV during the necrological services last Dec, 8 for the departed veterans Jack Tejada, 85 in Washington DC. Atty Valera is also the executive director of the Migrant Heritage Commission (HMC) based in Washington DC is also the legal counsel of JFAV.
4. Pilar Hocson, another veteran widow from San Francisco also passed away first week of December. She was buried last Dec. 16 in Colma, San Francisco. She was one of the active members of JFAV in the Bay area.
