Update on Mumia Abu-Jamal, Aaron Paterson and the Current State of Prisons.
GUEST SPEAKERS:
CHAIRMAN FRED HAMPTON JR.
Chairman Fred is the son of assassinated Illinois Black Panther leader Chairman Fred
Hampton. Chairman Fred was a political prisoner of 9 years. He currently chairs an
organization that he founded in 1994, called the Prisoners of Conscience Committee.
RAMONA AFRICA
Ramona Africa is the only adult survivor of the 1985 bombing of the MOVE family by
Philadelphia police and city officials resulting in the death of 11 people, 5 of who
were children, and the destruction of 60 homes. Ramona was immediately taken into
custody and eventually convicted of riot and conspiracy. She spent the next seven
years in prison.
PAM AFRICA
Pam Africa is the Chairwoman of International Concerned Family and Friends of Mumia
Abu-Jamal. She has recently hosted a weekly TV program in Philadelphia focusing on
Mumia’s struggle on Pennsylvania’s death row.
