Promoting the cause of the Muslim Community

Members of *American Muslim Voice* welcomed community members to a dinner and garden party in Palo Alto on August 23. After a traditional Pakistani meal, guests shared their visions for an inclusive and peaceful world through poetry, song, and spoken word.

The aims of *American Muslim Voice* include:

Promoting the cause of the Muslim community in America and advancing public understanding of issues relating to the Muslim community.

Reaching out to fellow Americans to educate them about the plight of Muslims and Arabs since 9/11. Identifying and opposing discrimination against Muslims and all other minorities.

Educating and encouraging Muslims in America to stand up to protect their liberties and constitutional rights, particularly related to effects of the USA Patriot Act and arbitrary detentions by the FBI and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).
