KPFA Management Call Police To Arrest Programmer-More Management Terror Tactics From CL

by Repost
KPFA management apparently called the cops to arrest a Black women programmer and in the process hog tied her and broke her arm. The use of police to deal with issues at KPFA has a long history with the lockout in 1999. There has been no report from the KPFA management about this incident and apparently management wants to hand it over to their lawyer and Concerned Listener support Daniel Siegel for more legal fees. This violent assault against a Black community programmer is yet another example of the role of the "Concerned Listeners" who want to "clean up" the station.

Here are the facts, also found at:

I could not catch the poor pregnant black woman's name; she cannot post the $81,000 bail, but of course, the charges should be dropped, whoever called the police should BE FIRED RIGHT NOW, whoever allowed the Democratic-Republican drinking parties to prevail over our subscriber paid programs, next week and the following from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Flashpoints, the news, and much more) SHOULD BE FIRED. Now, from the other article:

On August 20, 2008 at 1 p.m., at KPFA's station in Berkeley, 94.1 FM, a pregnant black woman volunteer was brutally arrested, had her arm broken by a dozen police, put in a black wrap, hog-tied while she screamed bloody murder in a tone we can hear online that sounds like tasers or pepper spray was used and taken to prison for supposedly trespassing and is also charged with resisting arrest! The charges should be dropped; the people who called the police should be fired immediately; KPFA must pay for the medical care of this poor woman and the Local Station Board members who do not support these demands should be defeated in the next election.

This horrifying incident can be heard on the Black August program, at the very beginning, of Flashpoints, on August 21, 2008 at 5 p.m. followed by a 15 minute discussion with various people at
http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?arch=27972

The people who allowed our subscription-paid programs to be cancelled for the 2 Democratic-Republican drinking parties of 8/25-28 and 9/1-4 should also be fired. They are probably the same police agents.

Further, every single member of the elected Local Station Board should be told they must either support these demands regarding BOTH THE POLICE BRUTALITY INCIDENT AND THE CANCELLING OF OUR PROGRAMS FOR THE DEMOCRAT-REPUBLICAN DRINKING PARTIES or be kicked off the LSB. It only costs $25 a year paid to KPFA to vote in KPFA's LSB elections.

KPFA IS CLEARLY BEING RUN BY POLICE AGENTS. There is no other excuse for this brutal police brutality for a woman who was merely on the phone arranging for a ride home and not hurting anyone. THERE IS NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER FOR THIS TERRIBLE POLICE BRUTALITY no matter what this person may have been doing, and it sounds like she was not doing anything harmful at all.

THERE IS ALSO NO EXCUSE FOR CANCELLING SUBSCRIBER-PAID PROGRAMS FOR THE STINKING ROTTEN DEMOCRAT-REPUBLICAN DRINKING PARTIES.

We had to wait for Flashpoints to make the announcement THE NEXT DAY after the incident of this horrifying police brutality at KPFA. WHY WASN'T THIS TERRIBLE POLICE BRUTALITY ON THE KPFA EVENING NEWS AT 6 P.M. ON AUGUST 20? We, the listeners, and especially the listener-subscribers have a right and need to know what is taking place at our station. CLEARLY, KPFA IS NOW A POLICE STATE.

Still no details of the incident, and no facts...

Anything a bit more substansive than an obviously biased poster putting forth their opinion as fact?

If Indybay wants to be seen as something more than a farce, citizen-journalists really need to shore up their standards.

I'd like to see the video. Anyone have a copy and care to post it?

I just would like to question the motives of confining, containing or omiting information to the KPFA listeners. I don't want to Boycott the station, but it seems to me like all the so called public radio stations are being taken over and all media content is distorted. What is going on, here and around our country is this....You have just felt what is has been like to be Low-Income or of African decent. Just plain unfair!! I would like anyone who reads this to know I wished I could work for KPFA to be able to speak my mind, now I know that is a fantasy. I guess there will not be the place for me to be heard either. As a single mom myself, WE ARE THE FORGOTTEN FAMILY SOLIDERS! I HAVE BEEN SPEAKING ON THESE ISSUSE FOR YEARS, BUT BECAUSE I WON'T SLEEP WITH SOMEONE OR CHANGE MY BELIEFS I HAVE BEEN SILENCED, TOO!

(pls excuse the spelling errors as I am hurriedly writting this) I welcome your comments...
