I remember Kitty Kastro very well. We were together during the now well known protest on June 8th, 2005 in the Mission District. She posted this footage from that night.

I will remember Kitty as a great person, dedicated activist, and a huge supporter of indybay and independent media.

let's rage for kitty. long live kitty kastro!

Kitty was my everything.
I am glad someone posted this because I am worn out and have not had much time to greive yet....
I miss Nadia very much, and wish this accident never happened.
I think I speak not just for myself but for the other members of the AL when I say the Anarchist Library is going to miss you Kitty. It seems like just the other day that you rolled into the Student Union with all the attitude of a Queen at your throne on wheels. You never hid the fact that you were having health problems but you never seemed to let it slow you down. If anything it seemed to help fuel your fire and help you attack life with a determined focus rarely seen in people . It was always a pleasure to work with you and I felt you always had our back just as we had yours and still do. We will make surethat you will not be forgotten on that campus as long as the AL still breathes we will keep your fire burning and continue the fight where you left off by aiding the transgender community.
If there is another life after this it would be an honor to be at your side again taking care of business and continuing the fight for a better world.
You will be missed Kitty.

If you were a friend of Kitty and are interested in doing something at CCSF in her honor and for her memory then contact me.
Hi, Dina, I can't find a current email address for you. Indybay does want to do a center column story about Kitty, and to include whatever memorial events might be going on. Would you like to write something for this?

you can write to me at hotmail (tho hotmail is down right now) or write to the web list.

Thanks, and again, we are all very saddened to think that Kitty won't be at our sides at this weekend's events

Hey, I would love to write something for her, and do a center page, BUT the last couple of days have been a bit much for me.... I will write something up soon.... I have been dealing with a lot of stuff, and have been overwhelmed. I am still planning a memorial and will let everyone know when it will be etc....
Thanks for asking and I am also bummed that Kitty won't be by my side this weekend. I was looking forward to getting her on the streets again doing our thing...
my email address is dinaleeboyer [at] sbcglobal.net
This is terribly, terribly sad news indeed... CCSF just won't be the same without Kitty. Members of the Cafe Musee also want to make sure her indomitable spirit lives on!
