MUNI 3rd Street Lightrail Going Nowhere - stops at Visitation Valley

by Francisco Da Costa (frandacosta [at] att.net)
Over $650 million has been spent on MUNI 3rd Street Lightrail and it is going no where. Check it out it stops at Visitation Valley when it could have gone further to Ocean Beach and served a better purpose. Then we have two bridges under construction that should have been in place two years ago. One at Marin Street closer to Cargo Street and the other at 4th and King. If this project was in a White Neighborhood there would be a hue and cry. But with Sophie Maxwell at the helm of affairs - anything goes she panders to the filthy rich Whites nearer to Potrero Hill.
The MUNI 3rd Street Lightrail Project is a fiasco. The rails are in place and it stops and looks at the Cow Place when it could have gone all the way to Ocean Beach and served a larger constituency.

Then we have two bridges that are being worked on - it is not as if they have to be built from the foundation. One of them at Marin Street on 3rd Street and closer to Cargo Street. It is a mess. Traffic stops and particulates are spewed by the tons into the air, water, and land.

The other at 4th and King both bridges are being retrofitted by Mitchell Engineering.

Both bridges should have been in place two years ago. There are cost over runs in the millions and the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA) is mum. If this nonsense had happened in a White Neighborhood there would be a hue and cry and every one would be in arms. Are we dealing with Zombies? What does Mayor Gavin Newsom have to say? What does the Supervisor that chases his tail Bevan Dufty have to say? What does Joke McGoldrick have to say? Did I say Joke? He Chairs the SFCTA Commission and runs his mouth as if there was no tomorrow.

In the Bayview no one really cares because no one wants to take on Sophie Maxwell the inept very arrogant Supervisor from District 10 that panders to certain folks most dubious in nature:
