11/16 TWSC Meeting In Oakland

There will be a meeting Wednesday Nov. 16 @ 7PM at the Seafarers'
Center 4001 -7th St. (at the foot of 7th St. in the port of Oakland).
The agenda will be 1) Report back from the 12-person Bay Area
delegation to the Nov.6 International Labor Solidarity Rally in Tokyo,
Japan against the war and unionbusting privatization and the impending
General Strike in Korea on Nov. 28 and 2) the defense campaign for ILWU
Local 10 vs OPD scheduled to go to court in January, stemming from the
police attack on anti-war protesters and longshore workers in April 7,
2003.
This may be the last meeting of the year so please try to be there.

Protest NWA's Doris Kearns Goodwin

Doris Kearns Goodwin will be speaking at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco on Wednesday, November 16th. Goodwin is in the Bay Area promoting her new book about Abraham Lincoln. She also happens to be on the Board of Directors of Northwest Airlines. In an effort to step up the pressure on NWA, AMFA locals around the country are protesting her speaking engagements. Please join us! Meet at 7 pm in front of the Herbst Theatre. See attached flyer for details on Goodwin and her connection to Northwest Airlines.
