Tear Down the Cross!
Athiest Sues City for Instituting Religious Preference in violation of the California Constitution
Listen now:
Patrick Greene is an Athiest who is committed to fight Porterville's City Hall over a 40 year running violation of the California Constitution alleged in a new law suit pending in the Tulare County Superior Court. His objections to what he believes as being the city's use of tax revenues to maintain a Christian religious icon in the form of a cross has fomented outspoken public opposition from this provincial community. Despite the existence of a community college and an active Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, no one seems to be willing to offer either moral or intellectual support for transferring the sectarian symbol to an uncontroversial private location.
Patrick was interviewed on August 8, 2005, by Glen Ryan in the 30 minute, 13.4 MB mp3 link below.
