Some weeks ago, we notified all affiliates that the 4,000+
members of UAW Local 2244 may strike California's only
automotive plant.

Strike sanction has been granted and may be released to the UAW
for action as soon as 2am Saturday, August 6. We expect that
negotiations will continue late Friday night through the early
morning deadline.

Numerous contractors in the plant may have union workers
performing maintenance and other functions. To assist your
members, the Labor Council hotline will have a recorded message
as soon as information is available from the UAW Bargaining
Committee.
