DON'T STOP working toward full freedom!

by SUN of SF (SaveFreedom [at] yahoogroups.com)
In SF, please support 4 protests on Wed., Nov. 3, "The Day After".
Homophobia won openly in 11 states, and sneakily helped Bush everywhere.
But we queers "DON'T STOP working toward full freedom!"
(sung to the Clinton era tune of "Don't stop thinking about the future!")
Despite bungling the war on terror, the Incredibly Incompetent Incumbent apparently got a majority (around 51%) of the popular vote for president. Homophobes provided his winning edge, with feeble help from Nader. [ Preliminary results as of circa 0530 AM on Nov. 3; subject to change later. ]

As in 2000, popular vote doesn't always match electoral vote.
So a divided nation nervously watches Ohio.

Voters in eleven more states bashed queers
by tacking anti-marriage amendments
onto their state constitutions,
making a total of 13 such disasters during 2004.

Thus homophobes have directly challenged every queer, and every one of our freedom-loving friends, relatives, and allies, like:
"Christian bigots are the majority, so to Hell with you.
Whatcha gonna do about it, losers?"

Well, what did blacks and Jews and Chicanos do when bigoted majorities repeatedly shat upon them?
They continued to struggle for equal human rights. They never stopped seeking a better future. Never. Through defeat after defeat, despite pogroms and lynchings, THEY NEVER GAVE UP!

Now all freedom-lovers, and especially queers,
must follow their brave example.

America, listen up! We're putting our queer and allied shoulders to the freedom wheel.
Step by step, we shall move forward.
We WON'T STOP working toward full freedom!

PS 4: Note to IndyBay editors:
As I was abouit to post this on IndyBay, circa 0751 Pacific time,
some Republican gremlin ate the online version, entirely.
(Two hours of work lost?!?)
Luckily, I had saved an earlier draft on my desktop.
So that draft appears above.
(Whew!)
If the lost text later appears as a duplicate posting, please nuke it.....
