--- Media Forum Scheduled for Oct. 20 at 12 p.m.
Lambasting a program that it characterizes as "intended to dishonor the military career of Senator Kerry, and influence the outcome of the Presidential election," Veteran's Institute for Security and Democracy (Veteran's Institute) filed the first official complaint with the FCC against Sinclair Broadcast Group.
WHAT: Media Forum with Veterans Institute members, highly decorated Vietnam veterans and former POW Pete Peterson to discuss FCC complaint against Sinclair. The Veterans Institute is a non-profit organization organized to provide a forum for veterans to express their perspectives on critical national issues. They will officially release their formal complaint lodged against Sinclair and its intended broadcast of "Stolen Honor."
WHO:
-- Colonel Richard L Klass, USAF (Retired) (spokesperson and president)
-- Pete Peterson, former Ambassador to Vietnam, former POW (6 1/2 years)
-- Mayor Mel Bray, of Dumfies, Va, retired Vietnam Marine Sgt. Major (Special Forces), Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient
-- Lt. Jay Zeiler (U.S. Army, Retired), Purple Heart recipient
-- Andre Sauvageot, (U.S. Army, Retired) Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient; served as Senator John Kerry's personal interpreter during his Vietnam visits on behalf of the Senate Select Committee on MIA/POW Affairs.
WHY: "The question is whether a partisan assault on a candidate for President should be aired one week before the election, with no opportunity for the presentation of opposing points of view."
WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 20 12 to 1 p.m. Participants available for individual interviews.
WHERE: National Press Club, Zenger Room, 529 14th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20045, 202-662-7525
