Stop the War on Protesters!
(please forward widely)

A group of nonviolent arrestees from the Reclaim the Commons June 8th protest could
face up to one year in jail and huge fines for blocking traffic outside the Biotech
conference.

Although San Francisco District Attorney, Kamala Harris told the National Lawyers
Guild that she would only prosecute protesters charged with assaults and
vandalism, she is harshly prosecuting these nonviolent activists.

This action could threaten the political climate in San Francisco, making
others more afraid to engage in protests. In an era of Homeland Security,
it is up to us to stop political intimidation tactics.

YOU CAN HELP!!

1. PACK the COURTROOMS!!!!
on the following dates, to let the judge, D-A, and Public know where you
stand!:

850 Bryant (btw 6th and 7th Sts.), SF

Wed, September 1 at 2:00pm - Room: Dept 22
Tues, September 21 at 9:00am - Room: Dept A

Please RSVP if you intend to come, and we will get a bigger courtroom if
necessary!

2. APPLY POLITICAL PRESSURE!

Write, fax, or phone elected officials asking them to put pressure the
D.A. not to prosecute those arrested on June 8th in association with the
Reclaim the Commons protests.

**Call SF District Attorney Kamala Harris at 415.553.9530

- Drop the charges—charges against peaceful “free speech” protesters were
dropped in March per the agreement with the NLG. Honor your word.
- We support her in refusing the death penalty. Stay strong in the face of
the police officer’s association.
- In a post-patriot act America, it’s essential to support those that take
a stand (or a sit-in) against corporate corruption—like Biotech and the
G8.

**Call SF County Supervisor and activist, Tom Ammiano at 415-554-4155

- We greatly appreciated his PROCLAMATION supporting the RTC efforts!
- Now would he please call D.A. Kamala Harris and ask her to drop all
charges against the arrestees.

You can also call progressive Supervisors Matt Gonzalez ( 415-554-7630)
and Chris Daly (415-554-7940) asking for their support as well.
