Join us for our next Open Process series event and help us bring award-winning playwright, filmmaker and director Philip Kan Gotanda’s new play, A Fist of Roses, to life.
Our Open Process Series events are more than just readings—they are open rehearsals, design discussions and interactive forums. This event will feature sections of the play as well as other materials, interviews, live music beat boxing by Musician and Music Director Tommy Shepherd and movement exercises by Movement Director Erika Shuch, all of which are to be incorporated into the project.
A Fist of Roses, scheduled to premiere at Intersection in October 2004, uses a whole new approach to theatre by exploring cycles of violence in relationships through three characters with changing roles and features actors Michael Cheng, Donald Lacy, Luis Saguar, Tommy Shepherd and Danny Wolohan.
“Gotanda is a polemicist who sees both sides of a question, a writer whose grievances are balanced by a wicked sense of humor.” — The New York Times
