NYC Indymedia has received a phone call from a spokesperson for the Kensington Welfare Rights Union (KWRU) who reports that police in Jersey City have begun towing away cars belonging to members of the group and that they are being threatened with arrest. Almost all of KWRU’s laptops and cell phones are inside the cars that have been taken away by the police, the spokesperson said. KWRU, a Philadelphia based anti-poverty organization, had planned to set up “Bushvilles” in Jersey City from the beginning of June until the end of the Republican National Convention. Stay tuned for more reports.
