Stopping by to say hi and offer her support after some lobbying efforts in Oakland City Hall for a worker retension plan that is being proposed for Oakland's hospitality industry(to try to make sure that the new owners of the Claremont don't law off a large amount of the employees just to break the union effort).

§Oakland's new City Manager

The City Manager has been harrassing the fasters in petty ways and was worrying about chalk art work on the stones on the ground at Frank Ogawa Plaza. She has probably been the main reason why the fasters are not currently allowed to stay over night. According to an inside source she is simply trying to "throw her weight around" since she is new to the city manager office. She has only been City Manager 3 months, but in shouldn't take that long to learn that you don't mess with education funding, and you don't mess with activists and organizers, especially when there are youth organizers involved.

Here is the City Manager's info if you choose to call her, email her, fax her, or just drop by her office for a while to express your frustration with her petty harrassment of the fasters.
