Stay home! You are not welcome in Burlingame. The police will do everything necessary to "discourage" you march.
by try
you think that is going to stop people from marching?

nice try,

as someone who grew up a couple blocks away from burlingame ave, i couldnt think of a better suburban town to have a march in. i've been waiting for something likethis to happenin burlingame for the past two years. hope people show up! it will be interesting to see how the burlingame police respond

I couldn't agree more. Suburban police are not interested in being PC like the big city guys, so the rabble will be dealt with rather differently than they're used to. Burlingame is a wealthy town that will not tolerate disruption. Paddy 'em, book 'em,

why do right-wingers feel such a need to go on indymedia and made idiotic comments? don't you guys have lives?
by Ruby Doomsday
I cannot wait to march. It will be so much fun! WooHoo!

Here's the schedule for Friday, April 30th actions:

---------------

8:30am gather at Justin Herman Plaza, San Francisco (near Embarcadero BART)

1:00pm reconverge at Union Square (near Powell St BART)
perfomance & art against empire

4:30pm Main Street March, Burlingame Caltrain
or
6:00pm Critical Mass, Justin Herman Plaza

More info at http://www.actagainstwar.org/

---------------

If you are planning on attending the 4:30 march in Burlingame, make your way to the 4th and King San Francisco Caltrain station between 3 pm and 4 pm. The last train that will arrive in Burlingame in time for the march (4:30 pm), leaves at 4:00 pm.

As getting kicked off the train on your way to Burlingame is not exactly the point of this particular action, I advise purchasing tickets.

The entire schedule for Caltrain leaving SF and arriving in Burlingame is at the address listed below.

if you cannot afford tickets, i may have some available to give to you. be at 4th and king in time to catch the 3:37 pm train.

(personally, i think paying for public transit is a load of shit, and usually, i don't; it's just that i'd rather pay a few bucks than get kicked off the train and miss a chance to piss of some yuppies in burlingame.)

i dont know if i should go to this or to critical mass....fuck, its burlingame, its gonna be epic.

the totally awesome thing is that no matter which you choose, no matter what you do with the entire day, you'll be doing something important! this is our chance to speak out and have our voices be heard. let's be as creative, energized, and radical as possible! yay!

1) Who's sponsoring this little idea?

2) There's no "main st." in Burlingame. The Caltrans stations are at both Broadway and Burlingame Ave.

3) The attitude of this seems to be that everyone in Burlingame is some rich, white yuppie right-winger. They are definetly there, Burlingame is affluent but if you drive the three or so miles down El Camino across the middle of Burlingame, you'll find nothing but apartments buildings filled with working people many of whom are immigrants. There are so many renters in Burlingame that there has been more than one attempt at rent control there but the landlords of the city have managed to kill it. The point: Why take a hostile attitude to people who are potential allies?

4) Marching on Hillsborough is somewhat ballsy. That is where the ruling class live. People like the Hearsts and Other Fortune 500 scum. However this sounds a little like the riff raff thumbing there noses at the rich. While cute it doesn't do shit and most likely the locals (of all backgrounds) will support the police kicking your asses.

5) An alternative might be flyering the local high schools and community colleges and doing some teach ins in the general San Mateo/Peninsula area. This could help build a movement of locals who know the local political terrain and not bringing a bunch of professional outsider yahoos who think minor vandalism is revolutionary.
