"Earth Day" at the SF Sony Metreon?
Idriss Stelley'altar inside the Metreon or peaceful protest

Dear friends,
On Saturday, April 24, 2004, the Sony Metreon Theater will celebrate Earth Day from 12 to 4 P.M.
While ISF (Idriss Stelley Foundation) honor the intent, we are requesting a memorial altar for Idriss Stelley inside the theater during the event. If the manager, Alexandra Michalko refuse to honor our request, we will demonstrate peacefully in front of the theater, hopefully with October 22 banner, signs with pictures of Idriss, a sidewalk altar, and candles, from 12 to 4 P.M.
I would be so grateful to get your suggestions, support and presence.
O22, Copwatch, Ella Baker, Loco Bloco, can you help ISF organize the event and circulate the petition posted here and on justice4idriss.org?
Please consider to send the following petition to Alexandra Michalko:

Dear Alexandra Michalko,
Congratulations on offering Earth Day at the Metreon on April 24, 2004 !
I might consider coming if the event includes a memorial to Idriss Stelley, 22 yr. African-American victim of a racist murder by SFPD in your theater on 6-13-01.
If not, I support the candlelight vigil in Idriss Stelley's memory that would take place by the front entrance of the Sony Metreon during the event.
Cordially,

When civilians kill people, they go to jail or are executed.
When cops kill people, they get a medal and a vacation.
When the president orders thousands of people to be killed, he gets praised?
When the military kills people, they're doing their job?
It shouldn't matter whether someone wears a uniform or not, killing is killing, and should not be allowed or promoted. Cops get away with murder all the time.
No Justice No Peace.

Hey 2 WheelWarrior,
So well said! Who could better describe the link between local and global oppression !
On our show "No Pigs in DA Hood", BVHP Community Radio, 103.3 FM, we talk about environmental racism and law enforcement accountability.
How about coming on the air?
