Change in Plans for April Mumia Demos

The Mobe decided to hold a two-day, April 23-24 Mumia Film Festival at the Valencia Theater at 16th St. and Mission. On Saturday, the film festival will recess for three hours for a mass march that assembles at 2pm at the 16th Street and Mission BART station. The march will proceed up Mission Street to the 24th and Mission station for a mass rally at 3-5 pm.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

At the 3/13 membership meeting the Mobe changed the previous plan for an Embarcadero to Civic Center march and rally as follows:

The Mobe voted unanimously to hold a two-day, April 23-24 Mumia Internationalist Film Festival at the Valencia Theater at 16th St. and Mission. The festival will feature brand new films on Mumia as well as the issues he has championed. Films include, "The War Will Not Be Televised," "The Fourth World War" and "The Voice of the Voiceless."

On April 24, Mumia's 50th birthday, and 22nd year of incarceration on Pennsylvania's death row, the film festival will recess for three hours for a mass march that assembles at 2pm at the 16th Street and Mission BART station. The march will proceed up Mission Street to the 24th and Mission station for a mass rally at 3-5 pm.

Details of the film festival/mass march and rally are forthcoming.

We will reach out to antiwar activists and defenders of civil liberties and all others who understand the racist nature of the U.S. criminal justice system.
