Think Political Theatre is dead? Think there's no entertainment out there speaking about the issues at hand? Think again. This is the FINAL weekend of Paducah Mining Co.'s critically acclaimed production of "611 $upreme" - a new play by company founder, E. Hunter Spreen. (To see the review go to: "http://www.sfweekly.com/issues/2002-06-26/stage3.html/1/index.html" In honor of our hard-working audience, we have decided to make both performances this weekend PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN! Thought you couldn't afford a ticket? Guess what? You CAN!!! The details: You only have 2 more opportunities to see the show the SF Weekly has hailed as "passionate...The script is smart and well constructed, not to mention timely...exploring the hypocrisy inherent in any belief system and the fine line between activism and terrorism...a provocative piece of writing." That's right, we only have the following shows left: Friday, July 5 Saturday, July 6 All performances are at 8:00 PM at the Exit Theatre: 156 Eddy Street between Mason and Taylor in San Francisco. The Box Office number is: 415/561-1418. This landmark production delves into the worlds Capitalism and Environmental Radicalism - foes in the age of "progress." In the play, a crisis is created when wealthy real-estate developer Ehrlend Swift is violently targeted by a radical environmental group. When Ehrlend is kidnapped, both his family and the activists who oppose him are forced to reconcile their own beliefs and reconsider their actions. "611 $upreme" - the play that dares to ask "What do you believe in? What are you willing to risk for what you believe in? What does it take to get you off your ass and into the street?" Come on down and check it out!!!!!
