"Uninvited" Bush threatens MLK Human Rights Symposium attendees in Atlanta

by atlanta indymedia (repost)
The Human Rights Symposium scheduled for Thursday as part of the Martin Luther Link, Jr Birthday observances has been threatened by the National Park Service at the behest of Bush's SS. It appears that their presence scares George Bush, long an ardent violator of Human Rights in the US and around the World.
The Symposium is scheduled from 9 am to 4 pm at the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, located across the street from the King Memorial. But nothing is allowed to interfere with Bush or his photo opportunity, and those unruly symposium attendees have been told that they must vacate the Church no later than 2 pm, or they will be locked inside for the duration of Bush's King Tomb defilement.

Despite the Atlanta Journal Constitution printing that the Bush photo op is "part of a weeklong observance of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday", observance organizers emphatically deny that Bush was invited. The MLK March Committee, headed by Rev. James Orange, the King Center, the Georgia Coalition for the People's Agenda, chaired by Dr. Joseph Lowery, and the SCLC/W.O.M.E.N. have all denied asking for Bush to participate in any way.

Rev. Orange has announced that the Human Rights Symposium will NOT be cut short to accomodate this uninvited and most unwanted guest. Rev Orange has been standing up to the entrenched powers for many years, from Selma and it's famous jail to the recent FTAA protests in Miami, where he and other labor organizers were tear gassed by police. He is not expected to alter the schedule of this important symposium, planned for months, simply to allow the murderer of at least 20,000 Iraqi citizens in the last year alone to pretend to give a damn about King, his legacy, or human rights. The Park Police and Bush's SS are expected to follow through with their threat to lock attendees in the Church for refusing to give way to the lying "They have weapons of mass destruction" Bush.
