Dave Kersting: Our Unsustainable War on Equality in the Middle East

by Dave Kersting
Peace requires us NOT TO BLAME PEOPLE, but to simply amend the POLICY that is the valve of injustice...
No matter what historic circumstances brought us to the problems of today, racism today is not the answer: it is an enlargement of the problem.
Racism does not work.
We should be GRATEFUL to find that the answer to this horrible conflict is nothing more than our hard-won, time-honored values of equality and integration, our CONSTITUTION, and everything we tell our children we believe about justice.
Someone wrote:

how about April of 1974 when Palestinian terrorist took a school hostage, killing 22 CHILDREN between the age of 5 and 12 and wounding 60 more I do believe thats a war crime

Dave Kersting replies:

The Israeli investigation of the Maalot debacle proved that most, if not all, of the Israeli children were killed and injured by IDF gunfire, as they stormed the place, rather than “yield to terrorism.” The Palestinians were demanding the release of compatriots held in prison for years without charges.

It is egregious of the Zionists to attack and ethnically-cleanse a civilian population, annihilate hundreds of beautiful ancient villages (which had been working in sustainable harmony with their environment) and establish a borderless beachhead of explicitly racist European conquest. It is cynical and grossly abusive to then bring children into this battlefield, in a pretense that doing so can rule the place off-limits for the horrors of war. Blaming the inevitable results on “the Palestinians” does not reduce the children’s agony or reduce the primary responsibility of the parents and their Zionist society.
Victory and peace are not ACTUALLY created by bringing children into a racist, hotly contested war-zone. We can all see this, across the length and breadth of Zionist-ravaged Palestine – but we are supposed to know it anyway.

Even the most horrific acts, by the most psychologically ravaged victims of the Zionist horror, are utterly predictable, and the Zionists cannot deny their responsibility EXCEPT by claiming some subhuman defect of the native population, which ostensibly justifies their national extermination.
The vastly greater number of Palestinian children, killed by the world’s second or third most powerful military, are murdered in their own neighborhoods, in the country their families have owned for many generations, and countless more have been killed in the camps in Lebanon where their families have sought refuge from the Zionist experiment.

That moral imbalance does not prove “right” or “wrong” on “one side” or the “other”: it only manifests the need to restore equality and stability.
Peace requires us NOT TO BLAME PEOPLE, but to simply amend the POLICY that is the valve of injustice – particularly the openly racist immigration-policy of “Jews yes; non-Jews no,” which entrenches ethnic privilege on one side, and prejudicially denies human rights and perpetuates ethnic-cleansing, on the other side: causing ever more conflict and ever more “need” to enlarge the “Jewish-Only” borders, in “self-defense.”

The Zionist plea of innocence, blaming the horrors on some fundamental ethnic or genetic deficiency in the original population, certainly harvests the standard racist propaganda advantage, among some people – but it also displays, for most people, precisely the racist ideology which traditionally produces the kinds of horrors we see.

Politicians and Jewish community leaders considering career-moves toward Zionism should stop and question how much longer the propaganda-power of racism will continue to outweigh the disadvantages of global revulsion, as the primary, pervasive role of that racism rapidly becomes more obvious.

For decades, Zionists did all they could to HIDE the racist realities of their “Jewish” state forced into Palestine. And they have succeeded in eroding sensitivity to racism, as the years have passed, with their constant barrage of excuses, while the racist crux of the conflict keeps emerging from the old, ostensible “complexities” of the “Arab-Israeli conflict,” with all its “Arab refugees.” It is no accident that the revival of ethnic profiling singles out “Middle Eastern types.”
But now – in the unmasked conflict between the Zionist juggernaut and the helpless civilians of Palestine – the fatal flaw of Zionism has risen to the surface. No execution of international observers and reporters can slow the tide of awfully familiar racist brutalities and gross racist precedents, including an actual racist WALL between the sparkling new “Jewish Only” subdivisions and the maimed and starving remnant of the original population crammed into their last decimated ghetto-reservations, under the constant prodding of Zionist rockets and bullets.
Violent racist inequality has never been more glaring.
So clueless Zionists can only expound their racist attitudes, not knowing how obvious they make themselves, in an ever more pitiful effort to win the world over to history’s most discredited ideology.

Centuries of steady global integration and democratization, punctuated by way too many agonizing lessons against racism as an answer to ANY problem, cannot be reversed by this last surge of official prejudice. The “troubling” violence “required” by Zionist Israel, against its immediate locale and its entire sector of the globe, is the bloody grating of racist privilege, lingering long past its prime, against the inexorable mixing and global unity compelled on us by time itself – and by the truly urgent need for global justice and environmental survival.
Israel’s nuclear weapons, which the Zionists see as the final “back-up” of their supremacy, are the most obvious dangers to that urgent need.
