GAY SHAME PRESENTS the Walk of Shame: Second Annual Gay Shame Awards, a radical queer extravaganza. This is the ceremony where we reward the most hypocritical gays for their service to the 'community' (that's the CEOs, the landlords, the cops, and the politicians who give 'gay' a bad name). That's right. It's time to shame the evildoers who use gay pride as a cover-up for their greed and misdeeds.

This year, awards will be given in the following categories: Best Front-Row Seat for Police Brutality, Model Minority Award, Propagation of Lesbian Bed Death, Best Commodification of the Male Gays, Best Gender Fundamentalism, Best Racial Profiling, Body Fascism Award, Exploiting Our Youth, Our Favorite Lofts, Wargazm Award, and of course the IN Award (Celebrities Who Should Never Have Come Out), Legends Award (Straight Allies of Reactionary Gays), and the 'Auntie Tom' Award (Gay Allies of Reactionary Straights). Competition is fierce in all categories, so we will unfortunately not be able to bestow awards upon all who deserve them. We are now taking nominations at http://www.gayshamesfbay.org.

Gay Shame requests that all participants and attendees DRESS TO ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING, RAGGED, DEVASTATING EXCESS. The Gay Shame Awards will be a festival of resistance, a queer takeover of the bland, whitewashed Castro and a chance to express our queer identities in astounding radical ways rather than just spending money and buying a bunch of crap. Why feel proud when there's so much to be ashamed of? Gay landlords evicting people with AIDS. Gay cops beating up queer activists. Gay Castro residents preying on homeless queer youth.

Please join us for the Walk of Shame, where we dance, prance and romance through the streets to deliver Gay Shame Awards into the open arms of the community. Get ready to flame!

GAY SHAME IS THE VIRUS IN THE SYSTEM. We are a radical alternative to the gay mainstream and the increasingly complacent left. We seek nothing less than a new queer activism that addresses issues of race, class, gender, and sexuality to counter the self-serving 'values' of the gay mainstream. We are dedicated to fighting the rabid assimilationist monster of corporate gay 'culture' with a devastating mobilization of queer brilliance. Gay Shame is a celebration of resistance: all are welcome.
