Iraq Protest 1/18/03

I watched the protest in San Francisco for an hour from my office before joining the march to the civic center. There were many more than the 55K estimate the SF Police provided. I guessed more likely 300K.

I think the primary reason for the discrepencies in the attendance numbers is the perspective. If you counted only the people at the "organized" protest in the civic center, there definately weren't as many people (probably because it was boring with bad food, no bathrooms and a lot of socialist propaganda from ANSWER and some bad speeches.)

The March was where it was at, not the rally.
