Albany Bulb activists speak out.

by Dan Mattson (handyman [at] california.com)
On Friday. 11/01/02, the Berkeley Daily Planet ran a story on the Albany Bulb, the last feral space in the bay area. This 8 min video puts perspective on the struggle to keep this 40 acres wild.

The video starts and ends with osha neuman. He is a well known peoples lawyer. He is also one of the artists at the Bulb. Chris is most featured. He has organized anarchist parties at the Bulb for ten years. His words include details of the wanderings of the homeless who were displaced from the bulb in 1998.

great video!

yeah a lot of us are ready to defend the bulb

precious rare free space

U.S. OUT OF THE BULB!
by ready, steady, go
So you're ready to defend the Bulb, eh? Does that means that you have stashed out there the food, water and medical supplies that you personally will need to not get starved out if we have to stage a mass occupation? How long can you hold out on a stash your size? Have you stashed enough for anybody else?

Your video captures a sense of the freedom that the Albany Landfill can give its visitors. Many of us are of the middle-aged/elderly, mom-grandma types, and we too seek the unconstrained space.

But as Osha also says, I can't think how we can ever get the State Parks and Recreation Commission members to understand.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
