In regards to the Longshoreman being accused of a "work slowdown". In the first place, our country has demonstrated it's ineptitude with terrorist attacks. Be they from 911 or the anthrax mailings. More over, our government demonstrated this when it allowed postal workers to be exposed, did not warn nor adequately test them. In fact, at least one postal employee died from a delay in treatment for anthrax because of this.

Our government has stated that the Sea Ports of our country are a vulnerable target for terrorist. It has also repeatedly issued "Terrorist Alerts". But it has not in any meaningful way deployed personnel to detect, isolate and or educate any of the Longshoreman in regards to biological and chemical weapons attacks.

Please 'EXCUSE US" IF THIS CAUSES A DELAY in the performance of work. It is a matter of "Safety" and various regulation, procedures and "Methods of Operation" that we are rather unfamiliar with. Besides the "fear factor of the Unknown.

Although I am presently on disability, I have worked with the Longshoreman in Cleveland, Ohio (Casual Badge # 226). My "disability" is based on a diagnosis of Reiters Syndrome, of which is caused by a mycoplasma (biological weapon) infection. Though mine is of the "organic" type that our government released as experiments, since the 1940's. Mine is not of the "genetically spliced" type that many of the Gulf War Vets are still ill with.

I can not help but wonder if any of these concerns are starting to surface in the Ports of the Great Lakes and or the East Coast ? Possibly even among the Teamsters ?

In fact, of the 27 toxic chemicals that the Center For Disease Control tested for in Human's, they found "levels of concern" (145). And state the main source of exposure is "food" (144). They only evaluated chemicals sigularly and not in combinations . More over, a Congressional Report states that of the 1,400 chemicals known to cause cancer, less than 6% are tracked (145B). The huge transnational companies that produce toxic chemicals found in pesticides, herbicides and industrial and household products profit not only from the sale of these products, but
also from the symptoms and chronic illnesses that they can trigger (157). While leading medical providers like the Cleveland Clinic and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore are establishing special programs to give platinum service to the well-heeled. Depending on the program, the super-rich customers may receive massages and sauna time along with their physical, housecalls, and step-to-the-front-of-the-line service in testing facilities (158). And Linda Peeno MD of whom gave sworn testimony to the House of Representatives on the subject of "Denial of Health Care Services" to the insured ( 20a, 20b). Now if you are wondering how this might be happening, please see Toxic Revelations. In short, "Justice has been sold" (101) and millions of dollars put into "fixing the sale" ( 49,159 ). And the Ultra-Rich that control most of this (from Enron, WorldCom and many more *145A* , 121pdf) refer to most of us as "Useless Eaters (160).

M.F.'s :Missing Files, Gulf War Vets - On July 19, 1995 The Department of Defense posted numerous files in its GulfLINK Website. On November 3, 1995 Paul F. Wallner, Staff Director, Senior Level Oversight Panel, Persian Gulf War Veterans' Illnesses, wrote a memo ordering the flagging of "potential sensitive reports or documents on GulfLINK.... to begin preparation of a response on particular 'bombshell' reports."
On February 8, 1996, DoD removed 308 files claiming that the files must undergo rigorous review for classified information despite their earlier electronic publication. Under pressure from veterans groups and the raised visibility of front page coverage in the New York Times, DoD returned 88 of these files to the website on August 30, 1996. The rest of the missing GulfLINK files remain hidden behind vague claims of national security.
