I would love to see the day when such a secular state could exist in the region. However, given the reality that Jews are still threatened by anti-jewish regimes around the world, there are many Jews who believe that Israel should be a "safe house" for Jews. Israel and the Arab world have a such huge divergence in their value structures that I doubt a secular single state could exist anytime soon.

I would point out that Israel continually struggles internally with the conflict between religious values and western, democratic values. This struggle will not be resolved any time soon. Further, I would say that the vast majority of the Arab regimes do not share this internal struggle - Ultimately, Sharia law prevails.

You aren't challenging the IRISH (in capitals, like you write 'the Jews!') for constantly holding Saint Patricks' day celebrations every year, and the IRA is funded by irish-americans, and putting irish flags up in their windows in Boston, and sometimes carrying around a complex that they were a persecuted white group in america even though for some reason quite a few african americans got irish last names transferred to them from the days of slavery and irish americans are no poorer than any other white group. And I was about to point that out about dual citizenship with Canada. I'm both german and american. I could start listing off the cases where german immigrants were lynched in the US for their ethnicity, and now the US gov't put germans, italians and japanese people in camps during WWII, and in several cases actually sent german recent immigrants back to germany during the war, some of them jewish. My friend is Pakistani Canadian american citizen. They set something up so that a number of people can vote in both mexico and the US, while I can't do that with germany.

First of all, Canadian-American dual citizenship is NOT automatic. I happen to know someone who is Canadian who is being deported. Also the US is not fleeced by Ireland, like it is by Israel, for at least 4 to 6 million $$from US taxpayers yearly! Also, Ireland nor England is an aparthied regime.

I know someone from Canada and he can't vote here. He thinks he could become a citizen here and just not tell Canada, and they might not notice, being the way they are about those things.
