12 years later, Earth First! v. FBI trial is underway
Earth First!ers, supporters, and Judi Bari's friends and family rallied as jury selection began inside the Oakland Federal Building -- and as the giant clock in the lobby moved from "Changing" to "Fair."
Speakers included Starhawk, Greg King (an Earth First! organizer who "discovered" the headwaters forest in the late 80s), Judi's daughter Lisa Bari, local Cop Watcher Gerald Smith, and Linda Six-feathers (from the Free Peltier campaign, which recently filed a similar lawsuit in federal court for FBI slander just a year ago).
The Judi Bari v. FBI trial is scheduled for the next 6 weeks, Monday through Thursday (8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.). There are only about 75 seats, so arrive early! Cameras and other recording devices are not permitted in the courtroom.
