Americans Against Terrorism

by marc keyser, reposted (Marc-Keyser [at] 2xtreme.net)
Marc Keyser outlines potential horrors of the real terrorist war - in the US
AMERICA STRIKES BACK

On TV they keep interrupting the AMERICA STRIKES BACK coverage of the awesome bombing of Afghanistan with news of Anthrax/bioterrorist attacks on America.

This second Terrorist Attack is unsettling, not because of the magnitude or the severity of the attack, but because the invasion of Afghanistan was supposed to put an end to these terrorist attacks.

The invasion of Afghanistan may actually be spreading the terrorism in America instead of stopping it.

Michael Vlahos in the Rolling Stone, writes: Even as the United States readies for the military hostilities of a new war, America is already at risk of losing--not because of flaws in our military strategy but because we refuse to see the true nature of the war. We will choose to fight the enemy we want to fight, and we will choose to fight the war we want to fight. And so we may succeed initially, only to fail in the end. We must think differently.

President Bush is winning the war in Afghanistan he chooses to fight. But are we losing the war on Terrorism in America which is the real problem?

The second Terrorist Attack on America

Following the first 911 attack, terrorist/terrorists who may or may not be directly connected to bin Laden successfully launched the Anthrax/bioterrorist attack on America.

This 'refined' grade of Anthrax is being sent through the mail. It was sent to members of the media and it has gained unlimited media coverage. The Attack has killed one person and infected several others so far. The Anthrax strain is not especially lethal and is treatable in most cases. However, the result is to capture the media with coverage 24x7. There is a slowdown in the postal system which brings delays and uncertainty to business and industry which does more damage to the economy.

Next time the terrorists could use something far less exotic than Anthrax. They could use something far more deadly and damaging like radioactive nuclear waste.

Imagine what would happen if terrorists used radioactive nuclear waste and sent it through the mail system and contaminated everyone and everything it touched in the system? What kind of pill do you take for exposure to radioactive matter? How much would it cost to decontaminate the Postal System? What would that do to businesses that were contaminated?

The Strategic-Terrorist Attack There is a misconception in the Media. They are worried about bin Laden getting his hands on weapons of mass destruction. Bin Laden has discovered the Strategic-Terrorist Attack which is a weapon of mass economic destruction every bit as effective as a nuclear bomb or a biological weapon.

The 911 attack was totally different than any terrorist attack in history. Terrorists used our technology to attack our infrastructure and severely damaged our economy. This type of Strategic-Terrorist attack is capable of doing every bit as much damage to America as American weapons of war are capable of doing to Afghanistan.

Terrorists do not need weapon's grade uranium, they don't have to build a sophisticated nuclear bomb, they don't have to develop biological weapons. All they have to do is use the things that are already here in new, simple combinations.

They can turn jet airliners into flying bombs and destroy buildings, and shut down a city and shut down the stock market. Or they can take things like radioactive nuclear waste and send it in the mail, or dump raw nuclear waste into a city's water supply and let the system deliver it to everyone's home.

Terrorists could contaminate parts of our mail delivery system beyond repair, not to mention what radioactive waste could do to a city's water system.

Another Strategic Terrorist Attack on New York could collapse our economy

In New York City, for example, a small team of terrorists could drive in and plant small explosive devices on gas pumps at 40 gas stations in strategic locations near busy intersections and freeways, and time them to go off simultaneously. Terrorists could turn gas stations into huge incendiary bombs to take out city blocks, start fires all over the city, block traffic, and shut down New York City again, which would shut down the stock market again.

The stock market might not survive another opening day like the last one. Investors lost over a billion dollars immediately following the first Strategic-Terrorist Attack, investors are not likely to make the same mistake twice.

A second attack on New York City could trigger a money panic on Wall Street and crash the Stock Market and slam us into another Great Depression and put millions of Americans out of work. Our economy simply cannot afford another bail-out on top of the first bail-out.

American Military Mighty is like a huge Hammer; unfortunately, terrorism is not a nail, - terrorism is like a cancer.

Bombing Afghanistan to kill bin Laden is like operating on cancer patient with a huge hammer. The cancer is going to spread and it's not likely to help the patient.

America has smart bombs, but is it smart to bomb an entire country and kill innocent civilians and displace millions of people to face the brutal cold and die of starvation or live in refugee camps just to kill this one Muslim Terrorist in front of one billion Muslims? Is this how to win the hearts and minds of the Muslim World that does not support terrorism?

Is it smart to use Weapons of War to kill this bin Laden and make him a martyr, and spread his Islamist Terrorist Movement like a cancer throughout the Mideast, among millions of Muslims whose support and cooperation we need to fight terrorism?

Perhaps we should put our defenses in place first and make sure our security systems are working first. Perhaps we should forge a peace agreement and settle the Israeli-Palestine conflict before it erupts into war. Perhaps we should settle the dispute between Pakistan and India over Kashmir before it erupts into war. Perhaps we should defuse the volatile Mideast first? Perhaps we should look at the desperate poverty and hopelessness that breeds terrorists.

If this invasion of Afghanistan escalates out of control, it could disrupt American oil supplies in the Mideast, which could really create economic problems here at home.

Isaiah the prophet wrote: This is a people of no understanding: therefore He that made them will not have mercy on them. (Isaiah 27:11)

Perhaps we could use a little more understanding of how dangerous this new type of terrorism is, and how important it may be to take a different approach in dealing with it?

The war in Afghanistan and this display of military might is spectacular, but it doesn't seem to be reducing the threat of terrorism here in America-and it could make things worse-infinitely worse.

If we're not more careful in the Mideast, Americans could be watching the story unfold on TV as authorities discover that some people in New York City or Los Angeles are reporting the fish in the fish bowl are floating upside down.
