Assaf Advi, the coordinator of the Workers Advice Center (WAC) will be
speaking at a labor breakfast hosted by San Francisco Labor Council
Secretary Treasurer Walter Johnson. The Workers Advice Center (WAC) is
working in Israel especially with Arab workers (Women Textile workers
construction and Hotel workers) who suffer discrimination as workers and as
Arabs. Their centers are located in Jaffa (near Tel Aviv) Haifa, Nazereth
and Majd El Krum (near Acre) in Arab communities. WAC recently prepared a
report on Arab Textile women workers who lost their work places because of
Israeli companies integration into the globalization process. The breakfast
is also sponsored by the Labor Video Project.
